How much is enough?

When I was younger, 1cr felt like a dream. When I got there, the goalpost moved to 3cr. Those I know who are already at 3cr net worth, are now chasing 5cr. And those at 5cr, claim 10cr is the target...

Is there a cliff at which more people are content with where they are vs those who aren't?

People just want to have a sense of purpose in life, hence the shifting goal posts.

Most of the people who want to achieve FIRE, will still work till 60 claiming some or the other situation.

With a paid off home, guess 8 Cr should be enough for retirement even in Tier 1 cities. Obviously, this goes a long way in tier 2 cities and towns

Even if you earn billions, if you are not content with what you have right now, you won't be content with hundreds of billions. Train yourself to be content with what you have. A satisfied mind is a treasure. Material wealth gives you satisfaction only for a few days or months. If money was ever satisfying why would billionaires like Bill Gates stop ? Find a purpose and train your mind to be content.
