I asked my manager to nominate me when promotion process started. Few managers will do nominate without asking by employee.

After raising a ticket they mentioned you became B2 IN OCT, V PAID YOU VARIABLE TILL SEP THAT TIME YOU WERE B1 AND NOT B2

Band change means it's like promotion which in-turn increase in CTC and variable pay is just a part of CTC so your variable pay out also increases.
