How many people here are still actively investing?

I believe the stock rush in 2020, has toned down. Many people have become inactive.

Also, do let me me know in the comments the ones who are inactive if they had a reason (market unpredictability, don't have time, didn't get good returns etc.)

Beautiful!

Managing it actively? Also, how long did you accumulate this in? Does this include money reinvested?

Yes, actively managed. It took about 10 years, the initial few years were only focused on clearing a house loan. Now full throttle on stocks. IRR is approx. 28% for the last 1.5 years. Didn't track before that A few multibaggers which went from 2x to 7x.

I used to invest in stonks but I have a good portfolio now. I'm happy with my progress so far but I realised I can make more money by doing more programming(becoming better at my job), switching companies for more challenging roles and other things than looking at stocks or reading financials. I've realised that I should focus my energies more on CSE than finance as coding puts food on the table besides other things I do for fun.

So focusing on active income than passive. Have been in this boat, and had 2 thoughts:

  1. On a broader note, this makes sense, because investing is time consuming and not everyone can beat the market. So, if I have to spread a common message: I'll say to focus on active income and invest that money in ETFs or outsource investing
  2. On a personal note, investing keeps me in touch with business logic and improves my active job skills (since I'm a consultant). So I resumed active investing after about 1.5 years of hiatus (in which I missed a really good dip)

  1. How is KhataCheck going to help me in shortening the time required to find the good stonks/derivatives at the right time? Is this like an upcoming TickerTape, OpenBb terminal or is it an MVP portfolio tracker which can suggest if I'm beating index or something more?

  2. My role is also a software consultant though I just prefer the term SDE. IMO, one can get more alpha from job like moving to HFT, if time value of money is also factored in and if I just divide my monthly salary by 200(for monthly hours I'm working for an org), I don't feel I should spend >8hours/month doing stock analysis to get 5-10% ROCE each month. Lots of interesting maths & stats up there & I do play around with some libraries which do something similar but someday I'd like to start my own portfolio tracker & spend more quality time at openBB terminal.

All the very best for your launch. I've signed up.

SquishyBanana

The first one, if you are still investing in stocks (doesn't matter if you are doing MFs side by side or not)
