How many of you think about leaving IT in next 5-6 years and move to doing a business in your home town?

My father has two businesses, one does 4 lpa revenue and another does 60-70 lpa per annum. 2nd one has some overheads , it requires 1 year for profits to come. First one is running good. I sit in first half with laptop as i have wfh. Do you guys think i should take first one as my full time. I will start a business that' s for sure.

Becoming an entrepreneur is like committing suicide. Its a spur of the moment decision. People who come up with a plan like "in next 5 years", will never become a businessman/woman. All the people who voted "yes", will never become one. The ones who voted "no" may do it.

I plan to learn a musical instrument and most likely will try to monetize that skill mayb in next 5-10 years.

Just to sustain a fundamental lifestyle without any fancy.

Actually the motive of the poll was to know who here doesn't feel like continuing in IT for long and choose a different direction once they have saved some money in these years.

I will still keep writing programs even if AGI happens. It's fun. 🫦

What business you want to do? It's not that easy too do business. You have to spend more time there.
