How many of you felt overwhelming after choosing Computer Science during education
Yes. Not because of computer science, but because stupid universities require
- Mandatory 75% attendence
- Same decades old syllabus (they just reorder the chapters)
- Mandatory study of Physics, Chemistry and Mechanics (1st year only)
- Grounding students whenever they do something of their own
- And many many more

Wait.... I was told to pick CS because it's easier than mechanical or electrical and has jobs.
And it was, as typically people get more backs in mechanical than CS.
Also I didn't want to be in a sausage fest.

Sausage fest!🤣🤣 too good! Totally agreed on that

I ll tell about myself and my feelings, I was interested in Computers since I was introduced to them from doing random stuff in HTML to doing Codecademy and other stuff in primary school. Then I was introduced to C++ which took me to the extreme adrenaline rush of what all I could build. Did well with JEE and ended up good, thought I had everything cracked, while during the internships found out even tho I m from one of the best colleges turns out everyone is a Computer Science Graduate and it doesn’t matter to companies which college you are from. That was the first time I felt overwhelmed because after years of hardwork I felt again I have to start from 0 no matter where I came from and what skills I had.

Overwhelming in a sense that there's an infinite supply of topics to cover and that tech is changing faster than I can digest food so it feels like I'm a donkey and CS is riding me and there's a carrot on a fishing rod with the carrot hanging right in front of me. I can see it but can never reach it.

I felt very overwhelmed due to choosing a non-CS branch and then trying to get into coding and learning CS concepts

Didn’t had access to computers in early days, I had a notebook full of codes in html and C, which I coded out when I got my own personal PC in first year of my college. Average in academics but really hands on with code even today
