How long it took for you to go from Sr Product Manager to Director Product Management ?
I am in a Group Product Manager role currently . It’s been 4 yrs since I have been in this role managing a group of products and handling a 12 member team . What is the next step you would suggest me ? I believe it should be Director of Product Management or something similar may be. Has somebody been in such journey ?
Took me two years.. I would recommend looking into your company’s skills ladder to reach the Director stage.. Talk to your manager and ask about how they generally go about evaluating and considering someone for a Director level.. That will help you understand where you are, your strengths and areas you should improve.. Then work on implementing whatever skills you have learned.. Grab any opportunity that comes by and continue to show intent..
