How long did you stay in your first job for?
Feel free to add a reason in the comments on your WHY for staying those X amount of years.

Still here in my first job 🫡

How long has it been, if you don't mind me asking?

I was wondering on the tenure of my previous jobs - interesting that the tenure has just kept on decreasing - from 5 years at 1st job to 3 years at the next to 1.5 years at the next.

Wow, 5 years at first job!!, could you share what were the dominant factors which made you stay for so long?

I just liked the people and manager there. If given a choice I would go back there in a heartbeat, the only thing stopping me is the salary. They are still the best people I have worked with.

On a related note: is it okay to change jobs during probation (<6 months) or under 1 yr? As in, does it give an impression to other employers that you're not a stable employee?

The important part here is why did you quit... If you have figured out that x,y,z are the important things you look for in a company, you can answer that to potential recruiters. Probation or not doesn't matter

Understood! But will that cause a problem in resume screening?

First company was emeritus (ED tech company) I survived a record 1.5 months there, learnt environment at the company matters most, and soon after I left they become a unicorn then fired in bulk, LOL 😂

As interesting as it gets😂

It was 5+ years for me and it's a big lesson for me. I advise everyone around me to move after 2-3 years...

Reason: pandemic happened, so couldn’t quit earlier
