I know since the evolution of LLM tools like chat GPT ,sourcegraph. Many candidates are misusing them for coding interviews. There can be many hacks even in virtual interviews. Wouldn’t it results in shifting interview process to onsite in future?
If you are experienced, then it is easy to figure out if they are using LLMs by asking a few questions around this . A few people have also started allowing LLMs in interviews. There is a revolution coming where most of the developers will be using LLMs to do development and you will be left behind if you don’t adapt . Even if someone is using LLMs I would see how the person is able to leverage LLMs to arrive at the solution . I am more interested in the persons approach in arriving at a solution to the problem than the solution itself.
I do not agree with this. “A few people have also started allowing LLMs in interviews.”- which company does this?curious! I know in rounds like system design which are open minded, you are not even allowed to google stuffs.
I agree somehow when development we are expected to use these tools, even i do. But I won’t encourage anyone or any junior to practice that for coding interviews especially DSA, machine coding rounds.
