By "Getting Better" I mean that is not as bad as they were 1 year back.

It was better 1 year ago. 0-2 YOE jobs have essentially disappeared. In 2-5 year slot you are competing with seasoned heavyweights, processes and interviews where you need to nail each interview with atleast 8/10 correct answers. Get ghosted, put on hold, rejected, for no good reason. And then eventually get lowballed because a dude with 2 more YOE than you is accepting a lower offer. So yeah, it's bad
