How is Akamai in terms of learning?

Hey folks a fresher here. I just got an offer from akamai. How is the company in terms of learning? I have heard a few folks call it a retirement company. Is that true? Is it a good choice to join akamai early in your career. When I try to switch in the future how will Akamai look on the resume. Will startups consider me?

Average company with average people but people think they are superstars. You get to learn Computer network handson which cannot be learnt elsewhere possibly the 1st year. Rest is just execution. CDN market is not growing evident from Akamak stock price and market capitalisation

How does it look on my resume? Will I have difficulty switching after working at Akamai for 1 to 1.5 years?

I don't know which team you are into but most of the work is nothing more than glorified tech support. There is no one outside who understands CDN below a architect level so your knowledge will not be acknowledged. First confirm if you are landing on to a team related to coding?

Why will startups not consider u lol. If u were in service based then it’s harder. It’s quite a known brand and that’s all the boost u need

Any retirement company is a great place to start your career at. You get to work with chill people and you set standards and boundaries of what you expect from a workplace. After 1-1.5 years you can move tho.
