Everyone wants to bet on the winning horse. It's difficult to raise huge funds unless you have a really good & unique problem and having a startup background, IIT/IIM tag may help

For Krutrim it looks like a case of convertible debt converting to equity. The VC who invested is also the lender of an earlier debt given to Krutrim few months back. Building a startup is not very difficult, building the right product/solution which solves the actual need/problem of the masses is the challenge.
