Friend owns 3bhk( All Loan Paid ) , He has booked Villa somewhere near Blr ( under construction) for 2 Cr now current price for villa already is 2.75 Cr , He got Alacazar car top model for 28L all in One time payment, bought land in home town of 64L , this is how it feels when you earn 90L Per year and his wife makes close to 30L Per year !!! 1.2 cr would give you luxury life in any city of India

Honestly it's just the same. Our household income is roughly 3 cr. First year, when our income skyrocketed, it used to feel special. Went a bit crazy with splurges. But second years, things have returned back to normal. Mine household expense today is roughly 3x of when we were earning 50L annually. Max amount simply goes to saving and tax.

Biggest benefit though is hitting FIRE. That releases a lot of stress away from you. But that, IMHO, is a function of lifestyle expectations.

Most people who make 1 cr plus as engineers (non executive level) , have a ton of variable and non cash components in it. In top of it you will have taxes 30 percent plus health education cess 4% plus 10% wealth tax on the computed tax.
