For all those who said leave India, what’s your take on Trump slapping Sanctions on your visas? Still feeling good?
They will probably say there are other places to go. Tbh most of them were never going to return to start with.
Let’s see if their situation makes them come back
I'm not sure they will, if this order does not get reversed by a court, they will spend their resources trying to land roles in other countries despite the pay cut. And it is a hell of a time to try as well, many western nations are trying to be discerning about their immigrants and they will probably prefer these H1B people over others.
One thing I am happy about is Real Estate prices will be more realistic now.
Actually the RE price will increase in the short term due to tens of thousands of NRIs coming back with their wealth in USD. They’re gonna buy homes and ruin the housing market even more. This will also create competition for the same set of jobs driving the salaries down.
So,
RE goes up
Salaries goes down
Loss for Indians
Those who left India on h1b, still have crores in savings thanks to their salaries in USD unlike their counterparts working in india. The joke is on you.
Has this law been passed yet? Its not an executive order right? It would need to be approved by the senate or something?

It looks like the Sanctions will come into place after all , my friend just received an email from his company asking him to return to the US immediately. Both him and his wife are H1B visa holders and now both of them are asked to come back and they cant go back now because all flight tickets are booked they are stuck here.
