How do you trust new D2C brands online? {Got Scammed, Need help} 🔴
Over the last year, I’ve bought from a bunch of D2C websites I found on Instagram ads and influencer reels. And honestly… half the time I regret it.
Once I ordered sneakers, from a trendy-looking brand the parcel never arrived, and support just ghosted me.
Another time, I bought skincare that came hyped by an influencer, but it literally burned my skin because it was some cheap relabelled product.
I even had a case where the website shut down two weeks after I placed an order (never got a refund).
After a few of these burns and being the one burning a hole in my pocket to just try new products and vouch them for my friends. How to get out of this rut., I realizedwith so many new brands launching daily, it’s impossible to know which ones are genuine. Influencers promote anything for money, reviews on websites feel fake, and unless someone I personally know has tried the brand, I don’t feel safe ordering anymore.
So now I’m curious, how do you all decide which D2C brand to trust? 🥲🥲🥲
It's not so much about the brands, but the marketplace where you buy them.
I stick to buying only on well-established & credible e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Bajaao, Myntra, etc.
Nearly any kind of product that you want to buy, is available on one of these credible sites, from one brand or another. Also, these credible sites offer return & refunds.
So why would you ever want to buy from random sites advertised on Instagram ads or by influencers? It makes no sense.
How about not trying any brand unless it's been around for a few years
Why do you want to be the one recommending stuff to your friends, take their recommendations instead bruh
