How do you transition from software engineer to software architect?

Please provide some tips and guidance on how I can work towards transitioning from engineer to software architect?

There are so many books, courses and of course practical experience also matters. The learning seems vast and I keep losing track on what to study or which course to start or complete.

I keep leaving udemy courses unfinished or books after reading couple of chapters. Appreciate if you can share your experiences.

Also, how do you consistently upskill? Do you study every day or weekends?
