How do you switch to consulting from technical background without an MBA?

Hey guys, so I am into tech coming from ECE background. 4 yrs into my job, I hate my life. I do satisfactory coding but I started feeling stuck in my current job given the comfort of salary. I attempted CAT twice but with bare minimum preparation due to work and wasn’t able to crack the likes of BLACKI IIMs or FMS. I tried for consultant jobs in both Big 4 accounting and MBB but not a single call. What skills are needed to switch to consulting from tech ? Any books ? Any courses ? Any certifications ?
