I work on a standing desk for 2 hours in morning and 2 hours after lunch. Also, I listen to podcasts and audiobooks during the daily drive to and from work

Does standing desk makes a difference? The only logical thing that I can possibly imagine like whole is in motion so it doesn't feel sleepy

Can you briefly describe what you eat during 5he entire course of the day?

Light lunch and munching plus music during my productive hours. Apart from that a small walk after lunch.

So you do a heavy dinner? And breakfast is heavy too?

I understood the part that heavy lunch would make me sleepy

A walk after lunch is the best. And ofcourse coffee!
And songs during commute. Need to stay calm during the drives. No point listening to heavy content for me. Personally, Can't unwind with podcasts and other stuff

Can you briefly describe what you eat during 5he entire course of the day?

A fairly heavy breakfast. A couple of biscuits mid morning. Lunch would be phulkas and some curry and buttermilk for hydration. I have some granola and nuts stocked for munching. Night would be the same. Many a time it could be rice for lunch as well.

Eat light lunch, avoid rice on hot days, drink strong green tea/black coffee within 1.5 to 2 hrs post lunch to avoid the post-lunch sleep, or have diet coke. That's what worked for me

Thanks

My "passion to deliver quality work" prevents me from sleeping.
My EMI's have no role.

I take a nap if I really need to. A 15 min nap gives me an instant boost of energy. Don’t fight it, just embrace it. 😀

After lunch, I generally work on tasks that need to be completed on that day, because the deadline will never let me sleep post lunch. If there is no work, I would go for a walk or play some Table Tennis for like 30mins.
I travel to office via metro, and it takes 1 hour for 1 way, so I generally allot this time to read any book, and I completes 3 books in last 6months using this approach.
One or more from below should help you to prevent sleeping:
-
Keep the lunch a little lighter than what you have been having.
-
Have a slow/normal paced walk after lunch, possibly with your teammates/colleagues.
-
Wash your face with cold/normal water.
-
Try to get more and proper (deep and if possible as per natural circadian rhythm) sleep in the night.
For commuting, not sure about your mode of commute and amount of time you are using commute; but you can utilise it to do one or more of the below things:
-
Sleep if needed
-
Catch up with social media/news
-
Watch movie/show
-
Read book
-
Listening to podcast/audiobook
-
Make a to-do list for the day (or next day(s))
-
Catch up with your friends/family with your phone

A walk after the lunch works the best. Plus chai after 2 hours is a must.
