Okay so all of these comments dont seem to directly address what you go through when you’re anxious.
Let me take a shot. I completely understand what you mean. When you’re anxious, you “are” just anxious - youre feeling things and you’re unable to go back from that state.
Now, one way to think of anxiety is to practice “noticing”. When i say noticing i mean the act of thinking of yourself as a spectator watching the physical you. Tell your inner monologue cool-ly and calmly something like this “okay so.. right now im facing discomfort in my chest.. im facing this because i just heard/saw/felt some trigger.. this trigger caused me to spiral into some thought which then led me to think that i am so and so”.. basically imagine a friend, who is simply seeing you feel anxious over something, what would they do? They wouldn’t feel the same pain or the same sensations. For them it would be a regular day just seeing their friend (you) acting weirdly. You need to train your mind to notice yourself as a spectator of your own consciousness. If you’re able to do that, you will be able to notice and arrest the symptoms and get clear headed when you have anxiety moments. For this, try to do this throughout the day when youre not anxious and do it with all emotions - “okay so im angry at this person/thing… because they did this.. and that was wrong… because of xyz reason”. Meditation is in essence this very thing - the ability to notice yourself feeling or doing something and then consciously getting hold of it and moving it away from your field of view. Slowly but surely you will get the habit of noticing your symptoms and you will be much more clear headed when anxiety strikes

I second this. However if you feel it is overpowering you or taking over your life, please see a psychiatrist or at least a therapist. It needs proper measures, not a stop gap solution.

I've found my peace in gardening...just start with two or three plants to take care...it really calms you down....but if you want instant solution...I'd day just take three double deep breaths...it's proven to work scientifically

I love to clean. It really helps me to calm down my anxiety. And if I got anxiety in odd times then I just try to divert my mind by looking some feel good series like Modern Family.

As someone who is in the same boat, i can say that start any physical activities like running, walking or cycling daily. It has helped me a lot. Even when you are instantly feeling anxiety, go for a walk, it will make calm down. I know , at the moment you dont feel like going, but dont think, just walk.

I used to walk and then cook. That helped me. Something simple, something violent, something creative.

I'm really sorry that you're going through it, you're not the only one , I also have anxiety and I'm still trying to get it under control. There's are techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation and square breathing. Please try to google it and practice it.. If you need much information may be I can help with whatever I know.
