How do you calculate 56+29 in your head without a calculator?

As a child everyone is taught to solve this differently, I am trying to check something about how one comes to the conclusion that tells about our thinking 😉

My approach 50 + 20 and then 9 + 6= 85

For this one Since 29 is so close to 30, i would go 56+30-1

Had it been 26 for example, i would have gone 56+20+6 and my brain knows 6+6 gives unit digit as 2 so rest is simple

i think like this: 9+6=15 5+2+1=8

like typical addition
