How do people in FAANG+ spend their money?
Just super curious. I have seen FAANG folks generally more restrained with their spending compared to these startup brats who think that they can own the world.
I personally am learning how to play drums and taking sessions from a tutor as a hobby. Got a new drum set last week.

I've noticed that we tend to be more conservative with our spending also, even if we have the money.
A lot of my friends focus on things like investing in property or stocks. Real estate is a big one.
Many of my friends are buying houses in North Bangalore. Not much splurging on flashy stuff.

Side note:
I spend a lot of money on direct and indirect taxes and get nothing in return. The worst deal in the history of deals.

Iโm in a similar situation, and I feel like the biggest difference between us and startup folks is the mentality. We usually save and invest. I personally spend a lot on fitness.
Iโm also into tech gear, so I donโt mind spending a lot on quality good tech equipment or photography gear. Got a new Nikon Z fc Mirrorless last month.

Iโve seen a lot of friends put their money into experiences. Travel is a big one, mostly international trips, especially after promotions or milestones. Me and my gf love fine dining, but we tend to keep it lowkey.

Investments investment and experiences

I mostly get money for chilling and traveling with my partner. Love is a beautiful thing.
@Jackietrader buying tons of penny stocks

Mostly my friend circle and myself do investment in stocks and mutual funds and shit cause no other way to build wealth. I think that the higher you go in the pay ceiling the more worried you get about your own future cause i have seen people who are older than me earning lesser than me just being chill with life ( idk when will i get that ๐ช )
Ofc once in a while i go on trips with my partner /s

Amazon and others used to do those numbers (CTC,not base) for freshers. And I'm talking 10y ago. Not sure about latest ones.
