How did Swiggy make this feature?

@swiggy PMs how are you able to segregate the dishes as 'Desk Friendly' in this feature?

You could have either

  1. Given an option to the restaurants to classify. However, this rather makes a false incentive to label for more visibility.
  2. Give restaurants to classify a limited number of dishes. This still adds to false positives in the list.
  3. Crowdsourcing. I haven't seen anything as such. But it sounds tedious.
  4. Some form of ML segregation? But an AI feeds in the images sometimes or so I've heard- which leads to a nasty AI loop.

Curious to know.

Probably historical order data by volume of restaurant - dish combinations are delivered to office addresses during lunch times.

Could be. Although I'd not expect a 100% correlation. I've seen people get non desk friendly food as well. It'd be great to know what they do for the highest level optimisation

True I feel even their 'Guiltfree' feature is a bit too random

I barely find actually healthy stuff there The labeling is quite arbitrary
