It depends on multiple factors.
Do you have pending earned leaves - They can used to reduce notice period subject to manager approval. Sick/Casual leaves are not considered. Do you have dependency - Forget about reducing notice period if you are actively performing in your team. You can get immediate release if you are on PDP. Options of buy out - Subject to manager and above approval. The worst option.
Thank you! I'm having earned leave..will use that incase of switch. Actually waiting for Associate promotion. It was supposed to be happening this quarter but hasn't heard any update from manager.
Stop waiting for promotion. Study and switch. Not a single manager in CTS is in favour of promotions because the overall profit from the project will go down and eventually their jobs will be at stake. They will keep you waiting and waste your time.
