How bad is current market for job seekers?
I have 3.5years of work experience, 2 years of product experience and good brands on Resume but even after 350+ applications I am unable to go ahead and secure a offer with good pay.

here with 600+ applications. Got job last month. And it will worsen lot much bcz every mother father wants their son to be Software engineer 😂

Congratulations 🎉 Give some tips. Did you focus on DSA?

no, dsa isn't my forte, i was actually planning for CAT exam. a fresher here, took drop of ten months for the same. Point is irrespective of dsa or skills, this is going to be another jee neet rat race, as the folks stating that this will add new jobs, 30 trillion ai market, falana dhimkana, that's a hoax, no one can predict. What is evident now is that free money which has floated over 1.5 decades is going to end. Central banks around the world will have to increase rates for significant amount of time. Wherever u are stay there, this is going to be much more bad attributing to the fact that competition is severely increased which will correct our salaries, banking system in lurch, our 60-70% IT business comes from foreign, we don't have industry for ourselves to create our own digital ecosystem, so many startups baked on false hopes and valuations, bahut kuchh.... better be ready to do anything to earn money. I have decided to do that. Want tips....bro, easy apply mein pehle 10 main apply kiya to thik nhi to bhul jao call nhi aane wali, referals takes time to convert for me after i joined i got 5-6 calls from very good companies like Dassault, Siemens, etc.
Market is bad for sure but there’s hope for folks who are immediate joiners or can join within a month. Received 4 calls last week asking if I can join within 1 month.

Any chance that these immediate joiner asking guys release offer letter without taking interview 😝

Lol if you dont have a competing offer you will be in a tough spot for negotiation.
Been through it and faced ot recently. One startup offer me 0% hike when i didnt have other offers in hand

Market is heading towards a correction for sure.

Yes, HRs are already lowballing big way. I got a call from a famous Bangalore based company, and they mentioned max range of offer, which is same as what they are giving to their existing employees, much junior in exp. So they are trying to hire at much lower package than the package they are already giving to their existing employees

Wow 350+ applications? How did u keep the count? Is it all one platform?

- are there even 350+ companies that can match your google pay?

He isn’t from Google, duh. Think about the exit opps in general. Unless, he was in GOC. Because, afaik Google PMs tend to be much more experienced. Rough rule of thumb is, SPM at a Indian Unicorn is PM at Google.

I had a chat last evening with one of the Big4's senior talent acquisition person. He said "Market is still decent for roles which are a necessity in the organisation and to clients. Budgets are still being allocated to those roles consistently"

Are you getting interview calls for product role?
