To add, if you are looking for non premium housing units, Basavanagar, Vignan Nagar, Kaggadaspura, Malleshpalya, LB Shashtri nagar are some nearby areas to consider. The houses in these areas are old but comparatively lesser in rent.
I used Nobroker to get my current rented house. They are annoying with their calls though.
