Hot take: Selling artificial jewellery in India is NOT about product, it’s about platform.

I’m a founder in the e-commerce jewellery space, and I’m honestly confused:

  • Is Myntra only for big brands and not worth the effort for smaller players?
  • Is Amazon just an ads game where margins get killed?
  • Is Flipkart the only real volume driver in fashion?
  • And is Meesho silently eating everyone’s market with low prices?

Feels like each platform has a completely different game, and you can’t win everywhere.

Would love to hear real, unfiltered experiences from people actually selling in this category: 👉

Where are you actually making money right now?

👉 Which platform is overrated? 👉 Which one surprised you?

No gyaan—just honest insights.

Yes Yes No, you can get volumes through other channels as well. Try going offline for example.
No, they target a different segment of audience altogether.

Focus on your own website and distribution, relying on platforms for sales will increase your dependency and overall risk. If the platform removes you for whatever reason, it will hit your business hard.

SEO, ads and word of mouth are your best friends. Can also try offline events, trade fairs etc. Do not underestimate offline channels.

Good luck 👍

Thanks for your insights. I currently have my own website built on Wix, but I’m planning to migrate to Shopify. I’ve heard that Shopify performs better in terms of algorithms and offers more advanced SEO tools compared to Wix.
