Trending @Accenture; Honesty is the best policy?

Is it okay to lie to your manager so that you don't have to work on weekends?

Should be okay but just wanted to know others opinion

Honestly is the best policy only with your parents and life partner.
In corporate if you are honest, you will be the 1st person to get screwed up. Don't be so honest and loyal to your manager.
You can be happy when you are with your family. If your lie doesn't harm anyone, you can lie 😉

Don't work on weekends ever, if you have free time then ask for double pay for that day if possible. Anyone,is it a case for Accenture?

Some of my friends in other companies work on holidays or weekends and get 2x.

In Accenture that is not the case as far as I know

But yeah other companies does give compensation for weekend work

You will only get componsatory off, that also you can take only when there is no much work :(

If your manager doesn’t care of about your work-balance then you should think of a long-term solution such as getting a roll off instead of just lying. One day you will run out of lies and it will go against you.

If they can’t take a roll off then start searching outside. Working in a bad team is going to impact you personally.

Initial idea was to get a roll off but then I realised it's internal project so I'll be working with this manager until i get a roll off from DU

So, facing some problems in getting roll off from the DU

Currently looking for opportunities outside as well as trying to get rid of this DU

All the best and keep your options open outside Accenture. There are great companies outside who value skill and talent. Unfortunately, Accenture is not flexible enough to move from one DU to another. Take care.

You should always priortize your health and family first over anything else. So if you have to lie for that that's ok.

Honesty is bad. I was sharing my work status with the client and told him the task is taking longer than expected and I am on PTO also so gonna need 1-2 more days. On which the client bluntly asked me to work on weekends and when I said I am going out of station his response was take your laptop with you. And when I just stopped giving responses to his messages, he started saying I was joking.
If he would be in front of me I would have punched him in his face😡🤬. Better I would have dropped this in the sprint meeting this week.
