Honest thoughts please....

I am getting released from my current project and also got off board and I also got tagged to another new project. Still I am getting calls from my old project asking If I am available to work for that project. I politely refused but I am scared whether it will impact my future like office politics etc.

The new project that I got tagged in is in a different location and no odc in the base location, Will they ask me to transfer or is there any other option to resolve this??

For point one , dont worry about office politics. It wont happen. However if you really enjoyed working in previous project, like project culture, good with people and do see opportunity to learn and grow stick to it. Point is since people already know you in project, familiar faces, so down the line since you have already dedicated this many years to same project, getting senior role/ onsite is more likely then a newcomer, irrespective of YOE.
If you have decided that you want to leave your previous project, please consider location issue. Bcoz lately there is lot of buzz going around, stating this quarter they have anyways enforced 5 days a week, and from next quarter 9hrs a day would also be added. And god knows they might force to return to base locations.
PS: 5 days a week , RTO is now part of your current appraisal criterias

- If you are already allocated to new project and you don’t have any issue with new role then you don’t have to go back. You can help them based on personal relationship however officially you are responsible to give 100% to the project, which is paying your salary.
- Get it clarified ASAP, pre-Covid time there were standard process where you could work from nearest office however there are lot of confusion due to new RTO policy and now they are doing thing like forcing associates to move to different city, which TCS has never done before.
