🚫 Honest Feedback About BMO Project – Think Twice Before Joining 🚫
Hey folks, Just wanted to drop a quick note for anyone who might be considering joining the BMO (Bank of Montreal) project — especially through a vendor or as a contractor.
I was part of this project recently, and to be completely honest, it wasn’t a great experience. Some of the major pain points: • ❗Lack of clarity in roles – You may be hired for one thing and asked to do something completely different. • ⏳Delayed access – Took weeks to get even the basic access to start work, which eats into your productivity. • 🧱Old-school setup – Very rigid, outdated processes. If you’re someone who values agile, fast-paced, and modern DevOps or cloud environments, this might feel like a major step back. • ❌Zero learning curve – No scope to grow technically or pick up anything meaningful. Most tasks are either repetitive or non-technical. • 🙅♂️Micromanagement – You’ll feel more like a resource than a professional.
I’m not here to rant – just sharing this so you can make an informed decision. If you’re passionate about growth, hands-on learning, and having some real responsibility, I’d strongly recommend exploring other opportunities.
If anyone’s already stuck in it or has questions, feel free to reach out. Happy to help based on what I went through.
Stay smart, stay growing 💼💡
