Homesickness is eating me up. Planning to switch to Remote work.

After working remotely as an Intern, I cracked a SDE role and moved to this new city. I feel homesickness now. I feel like running away from every single thing here. Everything reminds me of my family. I don't have much work experience but I'm trying to continue to work here and looking to crack another role in SDE but remote.

This way I can stay with my family as well.

I don't know, I feel lost. This city is costly and spending so much in the initial month just to settle down was overwhelming and traumatizing.

Do what your mind says. It knows the best what’s good for you. Often we bury that in search of the ultimate gold

Which city is this? Where's your hometown? Can you tell what all things are you missing here? [ like good food, good place to stay etc ]

Sorry I won't disclose much. But it's just my family and the proper place to stay.

You can always switch to a remote role. But living alone in a different city away from family does help you grow as a person and be independent without having to depend on your family for each and everything. But that's your call.

In case you are staying, make sure to invest in a good accommodation. A good room with a good bed. Try to not live alone. Renting a 2-3bhk with other flatmates is a good option.

Make sure you have school / college friends in this city or you are able to make new friends, otherwise it will become boring very soon.

Even if you can cook your own food or clean your place, still I would suggest hiring someone for cooking and cleaning. After a long hectic day, ordering food online or cooking your own food can be really depressing.
