Trending @Infosys; Hike and delayed promotion
I joined Infosys in August 2021, and in October 2023, I decided to resign. During the last week of my notice period, my manager offered a 15 to 20 percent raise, which initially made me happy. However, over the past year, I've faced challenges in the project, and in February, I informed them about another job offer. They countered with ESOP and an 11 percent raise, but I still wasn't satisfied. They assured me they would address my concerns in the current cycle, but I have another offer outside that offers a 50 percent increase. Despite my fondness for Infosys, I'm torn between staying and exploring other opportunities. Can anyone provide advices

Resign and join another organisation this organisation doesn't have much growth or hike and lot of internal politics

Let me clear one thing here is Esops is not a stock, it’s a stock option. It means the company in which you are working giving you an option that you can buy the stocks of a company at a discounted price…
When you buy the stocks of the company it means you also have a small portion of ownership in a company which is a great thing.
After leaving the company you can sell those Esops and make a good amount of wealth for yourself.
The main reason company gives Esop options to their employee so that they can retain the employee for the long term. because it’s very difficult to find talented people like you.
And the company doesn’t want to lose you that’s why it provides ESOP to you.
It gives a sense of ownership to the employee and motivates them through equity ownership and because of that they don’t leave the company.

You must be dreaming. This is not infosys of 1990s where esops would have made you Rich. Now max you will get esop worth 1-2L spread over 3 years . (Assuming your are jl6 and below) 30 % of which will immediately go as tax. Infy share prices are not doubling every year like the 90’s and early 2000’s. Max you will get on avg is 10-15% price rise. You can easily make this money by a switch and get a 30% hike.

So you decided to leave and you became valuable overnight.... Ghar ki murgi daal barabar 🤣

What is your YOE and how much ESOP did they offer?

Firstly congratulations, I have also in July 21 as a fresher, not got any hike or promotion, even I have resigned they told you are not eligible and management is not ready to retain those who have joined as fresher now. Be happy atleast you are getting something, compared to us who are continuing with the same.

Can you tell your current CTC and total YOE? Also are you happy with the project and your team members?

If the switch aligns with your career growth goals for next 3-5 years do the switch OR If you see limited growth in current infy team then its a no brainer and you are in a great position. Good luck.
Considering Infosys management has already given you a few jumps to retain you, its evident they value your contribution and the new firm might take a few years just to establish that trust. So hike is not the only criteria for switching.
Its a personal call end of the day.

It's wise to prioritize shifting your company, even if you're attracted to working at Infosys. Focus on your own needs such as career progression, skill development, and notably, salary enhancements.
All the best!!
