Higher education query

Hi All, I got admission in IIT for pursuing part time PhD. Does TCS allow us to do part time phd? Do they sponsor it? I heard that it is for only CTO unit. I’m from non CTO unit. Any suggestions will be really helpful. I have to report there within some timeline.
