In India, I think for BA role companies prefer 4 yr engg. Check for company JD if they are ok with 3 yr degree. Even if someone is hired with 3 yr degree its really difficult to get direct job opportunity. There are 2 things are expected from a BA. First domain expertise, someone who is SME like Banking/finance expert or ecomm expert or SAP expert can start applying for BA roles. Second, BA processes expertise. This can be gained from any institutes/through youtube tutorials or any other source and certification from IIBA only. If its not IIBA certificate then there is no value for BA. Even companies like Accenture recognizes IIBA certifications and it comes very expensive.
