HELP NEEDED - SWITCH FROM SUPPORT TO DEV
I've been working in Production Support for more than 2 years now. Technically I feel I'm stagnant due to repetitive tasks and no innovation and the kind of work. Tbh, I've done more complex projects/contribution at college than my company.
I have not written a single REST API so far. I have not implemented a single functionality at all in our application. All I've done is create, modify and debug Stored Procedures in SQL. Our application uses C#/.NET framework(legacy). But I rarely get to look at the code since all my tasks only involve SQL code.
I've tried to switch internally to a Full Stack Developer(.NET Core, React), FrontEnd Developer(React) but I was rejected due to lack of experience in those specific frameworks specifically.
I'm good at React, Java and DSA. I've been trying for more than 1.5 years to get out of this role but I'm unable to. I don't even know how many jobs I've applied to, my inbox is flooded with rejection mails. My decent-good salary makes it even tougher for me to switch. I'd like to switch to a Java Backend Developer or React Developer role. My hope is fading and I feel like giving up.
Any suggestions would be helpful guys.
