Help Needed !!!

I'm an employee in Kolkata and need to transfer to Delhi due to medical reasons. However, I'm being told I need to complete 2 years in my current role. My manager and HR are not helping.

Is there someone in the Grapevine community who can assist me with my transfer? I would really appreciate any help or guidance.

I have seen many cases of people who transfered from kolkata to their favourable location. Three cases are there - 1. People in RMG if they have medical documents available they ask on basis of that transfer. 2. People in project if they have ODC in the other location and their team is in different locations so they can change just on basis of this ask to your manager. 3. Self initiated transfer after getting verbal agreement from manager. If they agree you can raise and it will be approved

These could be different based on RMG people or Manager. If you are in a Project it would be easy

I've had a discussion with RmG, also provided the medical documents. He said we verified with tcs doctors, they are genuine but not enough for the transfer. HR is saying the same.
How can I proceed further?

If you have joined TCS as ILP candidate, then it will be easier for you.

I got my transfer from Pune location to Hyderabad, but my manager was very helpful, you have bring all the documents related to medical condition and have to convince your manager to fight for you, if he does then there will be no issue.

So only medical reasons can get you transferred??

Ask for Deputation Change not for relocation, it needed to be updated every 6 months by the Manager, also in Delhi your project needed to have ODC, if not, request to be seated in General ODC.

If you have good rapport with your manager let him know have a good talk in a calm manner and ask him to help. If not now at least later he can help . It's all in the manager's hands if he feels it's needed he can help in coordinating with HR's . All the best

Yes that is part of the policy. But if your unit HR and manager approve. They are willing to make an exception. Also Delhi location HR needs to approve before Kolkata HR considers it. Your manager needs to fight for you if youre valuable.

Bitter truth is, yes it will be difficult to get that. Better you try for a job in different company with Delhi as location, good luck.
