The current scenario and personality you've described is actually lot more common than you think like 99% of engineers are similar howevr industry is cruel right now and doesn't care . They only care if you've the knowledge to Bypass figure it out stage to save time and deliver output that's where the problem arises.... You don't know what you need to figure out so you could get experience in said tech and work before appearing for intervi or joining job .
