
Help me understand notice period
I am someone who has never worked for mncs and the notice period of 60 days don't make sense with me.
If i work in one of these companies and plan to resign it means I am not liking it here be it compensation, learning or salary
Why would they keep calling me for 60 days more and why won't I be lazy with my work? Can they force me to work? Lol I work with startups and this doesn't make sense because most of the work in startups is self driven and no one forces u

The idea is to have the time period for internal KTs and replacement hiring. If it is deemed doable within 60 days, notice period may be shorter.
If the HR/Team Lead doesn't care about the monetary and productivity loss, they may keep the person till the last day. Could be a mix of gardening leave, giving them mundane tasks, etc.
