help me decide to take which career path

Right now I'm working in service based company(1+ year exp) with project requires minimum development(implementing small changes/features as client requires).

I have overall how things work in two domains web dev(sde ) or data engineering(I got trained in company).

I really confused which one choose , I literally wasted 3 months without choosing one.

For SDE: I done some 4-5 good projects in full stack in university days plus one research paper Tech stack I know Javascript React js Some node js

For Data engineer: I got trained For 2 months with some tests , no deal world experience. Tech stack I know: Hadoop, Pyspark Hive SQl

And comment data engineer is good role ?compared sde in respect to intellectual,salary
