Help me Community

Hi everyone, I’d love to get some advice from the community.

I have 3.5 years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer (React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, etc.). its been more than 2 months didn't find any job after Quitting TCS.

Initially, I expected a salary in the range of 10–14 LPA, but the company mentioned they could offer only 7 LPA. Considering this, I have received an offer of 7 LPA from a startup, which represents roughly a 100% increase over my current 3.5 LPA, but there are some conditions:

A 1-year probation period.

A 1-month training period (with only base pay during this time).

In-office, 5 days a week + 2 Saturdays/month.

I feel the probation + training terms are unusual for someone with 3.5 years of experience.

Would you recommend taking this offer for now and continuing to look for better opportunities later?

For someone with 3.5 YOE, what is a fair market salary range right now?

i have attached salary break up please review.

Any advice or perspective would be really valuable 🙏

U can get around 12+ lpa for your exp. Your expectation is right. And probation and training are usually for freshers but startup has their own rules I guess.

Those days are gone where person can get any salary. Now a days hiring freeze and most organisations giving salary much less appox 40% max hike even you are top performer exclude FANG compnies.if anyone has 6 lac CTC then max 9 lac they will offer. As availability of candidates are more than job openings.

As you do not have any job so you can join for now.2 Saturday off + training is a red flag. You have not mentioned the startup name name so can not comment.Probation is in every company like HCL,TCS, Infosys etc so that is not an issue. As you are not working now so you do not have much bargain power as of now.So join this company and keep searching.good luck

Also, there was no mention of the notice period or leaves in the offer letter. They stated they would issue the appointment letter on the day of joining.
