Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids – No Maida, Palm Oil, or Refined Sugar

Hi everyone, I'm trying to make healthier food choices for my kids and looking for snack ideas that do not contain maida (refined wheat flour), palm oil, or refined sugar.

Most packaged snacks are full of these ingredients, and I’m hoping to find better alternativesβ€”either homemade or store-bought.

If you’ve found snacks your kids love that are nutritious and made with clean ingredients, I’d really appreciate your recommendations. Bonus if they’re easy to prepare or easily available in stores!

Good alternatives for Lays, Kurkure, like packed snacks.

As suggested by most ragi made products are good but again many brands use palm oil. So for my kids, in every 2 or 3 weeks I cook cookies for them made from aata, roast makhanas, mostly give them seasonal fruits. If i don't have time, then I make sure to order snacks from brands like slurrp. If it's not too much you can try making french fries, smilies at home and store it in freezer for long use

Diced salad veggies with curd and peanuts for crunch.
Boil kabuli chana, blend then cook them a bit in oil and ginger garlic paste, eaten with salad sticks like carrot/cucumber or beet root. If not give some nachos atleast they’ll fill up on beans more than chips.

Perfect is enemy of good. Aim for good less maida less refined sugar

If it is store bought, it is not healthy. The ones who claim are liars.

You want healthy food? Cook at home. Even cooking at home is not 100% healthy as who knows what they use to process it. But at least reasonably better than ready to eat store bought items.

In my opinion, kids like to eat what looks good, the taste comes later. I know this because my niece does the same, So make something at home that looks attractive, like fast food but healthy.
