Health Insurance Confusion?

Which company is good ?

Can you please share your experiences?

What I found is:

Care: Good plan features but high complaints and low Incurred Claim Ratio

HDFC: High cost, less features, high trust

Bajaj: Lowest complaint ratio, good settlement but policy is very strict means too many restrictions, zone wise co pay

Aditya Birla: Good features, Price slightly high

Manipal Cigna: Great Features, but no nearest cashless hospitals

Acko, Digit : Newer ones so less believe

Start and Niva Buppa: High complaints

Please share your thoughts I am too confused. In every YouTube video comment section is filled with 'don't take this policy' kind of message for any insurer.

Please help me.

I already talked with policy bazar and ditto but the problem is they are agents and only partner with few companies so they are highlighting only those.

@FlatMemorial36 , you may check General Central (Future Generali India Life Insurance Company Limited is now Generali Central Life Insurance Company Limited) or Star Health Insurance. And pls share your feedback after reviewing these companies I'm also looking for something good and mostly the company which covers OPD also because as per me our regular medical expenses are more apart from hospitalization

Bro star is worst .. like not experienced but not a single person told to take. And I have a future generali from my company. This one I am taking for my mom.

I am not sure they provide health insurance for individuals like I have visited their website but there is no health plan related thing.

Recommending star is like serving poison. Never go for star.

Hdfc costs 1.5x the nearest competitor in terms of premium amount.
But in times of need and pressure (hospitalisation for serious illnesses); hdfc is the least hassle.
They don’t reject claims so easily

For me, the peace of mind is worth the higher premium

I have had a similar experience w HDFC. Recommend them highly

You can reduce the premium by opting for 25k deductable that 25k can be arranged using your corporate policy if required

You may check IFFCO-Tokio while TPA being Paramount.. My experience was good. Its from my company though not personal.

Cashless and reimbursement both were good.. used for parents.

I think iffco tokio is good because TPA is there.. I mean if any person is taking from TPA then I think it is smoothly settled.

You can check NIA and other govt backed insurance.

Are those good and cashless? I have heard that they do reimbursement but their support is not good.

FuzzyNoodle

ICICI has lowest claim settlement ratio like only 85%. You can check the ditto also for this.

How is Bajaj general?

FuzzyNoodle
FuzzyNoodle

Every thing is good company complaints are less the only issue is with premium is costly and plan benefits

Like on Policy Bazar have bajaj My Health Care plan 5 but bajaj portal has My Health Care plan 1.

Bajaj has very strict wording about many things It is also a big disadvantage like ZONE payment.

Avoid Star Health like the black plague! They are the one of the worst insurance providers along with a couple of others like Niva Bupa, etc.

What features are missing in HDFC?

Also you can get 40%off if you take 50k deductible (they won't pay the first 50k in the year).

Premiums are too costly approx 2x.

Like

  1. You cannot reduce the pre-existing disease waiting period.
  2. Renewal Bonus is not much which is required to beat inflation and you can not increase your base in future because fresh WAITING PERIOD will applicable on the increased amount.
  3. Durable Medical Equipment is not cover which is 10-15% of your bill.
  4. OPD: No opd benefits.
  5. 24 hour hospitalisation is required (Bajaj, Aditya Birla provide 2 hour hospitalisation apart from Day Care treatment)

Features which looks good but are not

  1. Daily cash is only applicable if it's shared room
  2. No discount on renewal

Deductable won't correct otherwise we can take the super top up only.

See mostly in Tier 3 city many health issues are resolved within 50k or 1 lac. So either you get nothing or get half of claimed amount. Just because you saved some money on premium.
