As a 21 year my parents don’t have insurance for me and my father says insurance is something needed from the age of 30 onwards, is this true?

Company policy for myself and another one for parents

Young folks, my advice is to take a personal health insurance plan on top of the one company provides. From what I see healthcare in India is becoming like the US and it's only going to get worse. I've seen in US people in between jobs suffer like hell but avoid going to the doctor since they are not covered. When you're young it's fine, but as you age the premiums get expensive and some companies flat out refuse insurance for some pre-existing conditions. Better to treat it like term insurance and get in when you're young and healthy.
