Have you figured out your reason for doing what you do?
Do you know the reason for getting up everyday and working? Have you found why you wanna do what you wanna do?
Examples from TV series - Naruto wanted to be Hokage because he wanted everyone to see him, acknowledge that he exists and he is someone important.
Mike Ross in Suits wanted to be lawyer to help people because of what happened with his parents
Patrick Jane in Mentalist was a CBI consultant because he wanted to find killer of his wife and Daughter
Sheldon cooper pursued physics bcoz it made sense to him and he wanted to win a Nobel
I can only quote such examples as I haven't found real life people who have any reasons for why they do what they do apart from the reason of making money. Even here, I find most posts about making money/salary discussions. I have rarely found any post which talks about something meaningful other than money.
Disclaimer- I am not saying money isn't a good enough reason. I am trying to figure out if someone has reasons other than money.
Would like to hear why they chose the field they chose!

Because this is real life not reel life 😇

I agree. But I still believe people must have some kind of purpose. I have seen so many people who start a business simply because they want to solve a problem which they went through

Sure they have
We can connect dots looking backwards not forward
So for most people they will figure out on the way

Yes had to prove people wrong who considered me a failure when I was young. Now even their kids aren’t at my level

Damn. That feeling must have been awesome? Now that you have achieved it, What's your reason now of continuing it?

Over-time I made many friends who have different goals they helped me achieve my goals I’m helping them achieve theirs. Many are partners with me in different ventures and are successful

nope. i m happy with my mediocre life. I have accepted the fact that all our life is a lie. So better be a foool. A good fool. Just like my parents had a middle class happy life. love it. Life will happen:)

Why so negative man?

i went through the same three months ago. Could not sleep for nights. Plus it was the period I took gap for CAT. I wanted to do everything 🤣. I ve decided to cut some slack for myself. I wanted to change the world, do something of my own , I have wide variety of interests. I still want to do those things but not at the cost of my life. So chillllllled....:)

No, this question is been dreading me for past few weeks. Money was a good reason in the initial stages but now i see no point.

I understand. Why not start a truth seeking pursuit towards exploring? Maybe you find something you truly want to in this pursuit. Maybe it earns you a lot less, but if it makes you happy, I don't think there's anything better! Wouldn't you agree?

Yep thats the only way.

Cause in real life people persue a job cause it pays and gives them the money to spend and enjoy time with friends and family

I don't deny the basis for a job. But I believe there can be more to a job than simply money. I want to see if anyone has a job for something other than money

I made a career from my passion for art/design with the thought that I could never hate my job if it's something I love doing every day. Lol, I was so naive.

You started hating it?

What! Art and design sounds interesting. Why would you hate your job?
Sometimes you just improvise

I don't deny at all. I am not at all saying people shouldn't pivot. All I'm asking is what's your reason? I am interested in knowing the reason for people for whom the reason isn't money at this point
For most of the people the reason starts with Money and then they goes on pivoting to finally reaching where they feel content. It’s would be good to hear a solid story but a person having perfect resume might also have many stories (good bad and ugly) to tell.
Totally depends on the story teller in my opinion

Money should be the only reason. Any other reason and you are either being brainwashed or exploited.

Not really. I gave you all examples above. I can truly say, real life examples of such similar people exists.
Money based reason seems so superficial. We as humans want meaning in life, in what we do!

I haven't yet, right now the only reason being to be able to make good money, maybe with money I'll figure out what I want to do

Makes sense
