Have Resigned and now confused.
It's been 8 yrs in tcs working as a front end developer. Have a total of 11 yrs of exp and the package is 10 lac. I am a mother of a 4 yr old daughter. I resigned 1 week back due to frustration without any offer in my hand. Now my manager wants to retain me, 6 months wfh and promotion. I had planned to search for a job outside during my notice period because every company is looking for immediate joiners, that is why i did not get a single call from the last 6 months. Any suggestion should i revoke the papers?

If you are comfortable, what was the cause of frustration?

I had to go to ofc 5 days. Was not getting time to proper take care of my daughter. Increment i got less than 5 even though i have taken the responsibilties. Dec my manager raised promotion but HR was not ready to proceed my case by saying by saying i am not spending 9 hrs. This promotion was supposed to happen last yr. It is actually delayed. Its actually not the problem with project. Its organization

so from my understanding, promotion will still depend on wfo policies by organisation… so if you take six months wfh - they might still delay your promotion… its like a trade off .. you need to think , assess your present situation, your need to give time to your family , your career aspirations and then take a decision

If you are confident that you will secure a new position during your notice period, it is worth exploring opportunities outside your current company. However, considering your need for work-life balance and the support you've received from your manager, including the option to work from home and a promotion, it may be wise to give your current situation a chance. If you remain unsatisfied, you always have the option to initiate separation from your current organization. Remember, there is no guarantee that another company will treat you better than your current one.

Once you resigned then don't ever overthink. Breathe and just look up for the new job. Don't doubt on yourself.

Yes revoke it. I also did it with 30% salary hike which is a bit on a higher side and my head had to take approval from corp HR. TCS gives you space, I have seen other companies that see mothers/women as an overhead. TCS has a great reputation when it comes to role change, work life balance etc.

Get promotion before you take take resign back although it will be barely around 12.2 LPA maximum. If this is ok for you alongwith work life balance. Then its fine. Else if you are confident to get a job in 3 months, you might get more than 20 plus LPA with 3 days work from office choice is yours.

Please don’t get into managers trap of WFH allowance. According to TCS policy it is not allowed + WFH without approval will affect the Promotion & band

Based on your experience, the package isn’t according to the market standards.
If you just need to take care of your daughter and need to have a work life balance, revoke the resignation and then just stop caring about the work and leave on proper office time. Since they are already withholding your promotion and the hike is just shit in TCS, the best thing you can do is get work life balance. Stop attending meetings after office hours, stop working extra hours. Just do the bare minimum and email your manager than you will not be able to work extra hours as it’s affecting your health. I guarantee you that manager won’t ask you to work extra hours on record.
