Has anyone traveled to Malaysia this 2024 as a tourist? Need advice

I heard from a friend that we don't need visa till Dec 31st. Is it true? If so, how do we proceed with booking and immigration?

Appreciate any assistance.

There’s no visa required. You will need mdac card (can get via agent for 500 rs)

Ok. Could we apply it ourselves from their offical website? And should we just present the MDAC during immigration?

Yes, we can do it ourselves as well.
Yeah, if asked for.

Went earlier this year. Fill up the form (MDAC) 2 days before departure. Takes 1 minute. Keep your flight tickets handy.

At immigration I was asked about my purpose (tourism), return flight date, and hotel name. No physical documents.

Take the bus to main city. Get the metro card from the mall inside bus station. Enjoy.

Thanks that's helpful.
Also, how do you pay for street food vendors using QR codes and book cabs? Is it possible to use your India forex credit card to pay using QR code?

What do you need a forex card for? Just swipe your regular CC. Ixigo offers one with zero forex markup. Kept another as backup (and for lounge access). 300 USD. All set.

Btw use Grab for taxis (similar as Uber, v cheap) and also for food.
Stores will accept CC.

It’s visa on arrival anyway, but you have to apply for it they provided us with a visa in the airport(went on June this year)
