Has anyone received retension offer recently after resignation ?

I have resigned a month ago. There is full dependency but due to ego manager has not offered any retension. But indirectly asking me to work more. I want to know if anyone got retention offer after resignation mainly after July lay off. I want to take fun of negotiating retention and then say No. :)

Heard from a colleague he got a retention letter.

Same ego issues and stuff for manager but he was super integral to the project. They ignored him and he got better offers.

But what happened was nobody wanted to join TCS to fill his position nor did anyone want to take it up ( none were skilled enough nor ready for it ) and those they tried interviewing failed client interview miserably.

In the end Manager realised if he keeps his ego first person out of a job would be him if this person leaves. Thus, in the end Manager had to eat up his ego, beg the colleague, and even give him a big fat matching offer.

Trust me my colleague enjoyed the retention process thoroughly. 1) he realised he was severely underpaid 2) He got a really good offer from TCS and he is planning to jump ship as soon as cool off period is done cause he realised he can leverage and get better salary elsewhere.

There is no cooling off or mandatory period. He can resign again as soon as he wants. Some HR might say 6 months or 1 year but there's no written policy as far as I'm aware.

Yes everyone gets "Re-Tension" from tcs daily. If you mean to say "retention" then forget about that. It's not anymore now.

When did you get the retention offer ? How many days after resignation? And is it after July lay off announcement?

You will get early release..
Retention will be a joke in current scenario

They are not releasing early also. I stopped working completely from day 1. But the manager is assigning more tasks.

Hi @WittyKidney I'm also in the same boat. Have huge dependency in project but due to cheap ego they don't even asked me about any possibility of retention, and rather they put a lot of work to be completed before LWD.

But as far as I know TCS never matches the offer, they give 10-15% hike

And note, every thing depends on your need in the project, if you have resigned and u can be easily replaced then forget retaining

Yes.. But it depends on your unit retention budget. Not every unit is offering the same. HR will call you and ask if you have offer. Let them know you have the same and resigning due to salary only, and you may continue if tcs offers to match the offer.
