12moHardwork required while in Project in TCS ?
If I am in a project in TCS, does what my project manager is asking me to do and I am doing and completing those task, will that suffice for good IPF or will I have to initiate new steps and ask for work ?

Just do what's asked to be done, the more you ask for work the more work they're going to dump on you, even management tasks like sending mails on behalf of the team or to create stupid excel sheet that will take you nowhere. Just do what's expected of you, with commitment. IPF and Bands are not interlinked, and your appraisal is based on Bands. I know a folk with 4+ rating receiving C band. Your project manager won't let you rest for long, I promise :)
