Hey as long as hardware is your passion, you should stay.
What’s important eventually is - where can you reach the highest level? Do you see yourself ever becoming a software senior director m/VP? Because that’s where most money in the career is actually made

I can reach there but certain things does bring in obstructions like not coming from a tier-1/2 background. At least in hardware I have seen this happen now very frequently.
