H1B Visa dilemma

H1B petition is filed in the last week of June. Acknowledgement received after 2 days by USCIS. It’s been 6 months yet the status says, “it is being reviewed “. Is it still worth to keep hope? How many more months need to wait even if the petition is approved? My petition is filed under Aerospace category for consultant role.

The petition was filed under which year’s quota, 2025 or 2026 ?

I believe it should be under 2026, because 2025 quota would be filled in April 2025 itself.

For 2026 quota, I believe H1B becomes valid from Oct 1st 2026, so you have time till then for petition to get approved and get visa interview and stamping done after that.

So for 2026 quota, typically approval of petition will come by April - May 2026, and visa interview and stamping will take place somewhere between July - October 2026 (depending upon how soon you are able to get appointment), and then you can fly after the H-1B becomes valid after Oct 1st, 2026.

Your June 2025 filing time for H-1B sounds very odd to me. Why would any company file in June, because quota typically gets filled on first date of filing itself - on 1st April. 🤔

So companies generally prepare the paperwork for filing from Jan to Mar, and then file on 1st April itself for current year's quota.

It indeed was filed for 2025. In Glomo Travel date is showing 1st Oct 2025 (Given the petition and paperwork is done). Also there is no lottery system in place for 2026.
