For H1B dependent visa, can dependent visa holder legally work in USA? Is there any process to get work permit for dependent? If yes, what is that and how much time does it take? People who have moved to USA on h1b with dependent visa, please share your experience.

H4 visa holders can work in the USA if they get an EAD. The process can take several months, patience is key here.
