Guys who never approached any girl, how did you overcome the fear of talking?

I mean the fear is real, please don't judge genuinely seeking suggestions. My personality is like that only quite reserved and not much open to everyone and with girls I never really got a chance to interact because school and college had girls in less numbers and workplace too. My personality isn't evident too clearly because I open up when I feel safe around someone, so i carry that basic mindset of talking only the amount of stuff required.

It's not like I'm not talkative but I want to feel safe before letting my true nature show up to someone cause that's the mental layering my brain did to safeguard my emotions. So, how do I even talk or approach someone, I'm in a tier 1 city for reference.
